A tour where art and nature intertwine along a path characterized by a typical rural landscape. Riding along secondary road lined with wonderful cacti and prickly pear, you will reach Piazza Armerina, a UNESCO heritage town and destination of important cultural interest that owes its fame to the Villa del Casale, an imperial residence dating back to the end of the fourth century A.D. famous especially for its wonderful mosaics, considered among the most beautiful and best preserved in their kind.
Arrival
Arrival in Caltagirone, by own transport (or you can reserve shuttle service), accommodation in the rooms assigned and free time to visit the main attractions of the historic center of Caltagirone a few steps from the B & B.
First day
Piazza Armerina
Breakfast and departure with transfer from by shuttle from Caltagirone to Piazza Armerina (or on request, for the most trained, it is possible to leave directly by MTB). Visit of the city: biking route to discover the baroque historic center of Piazza Armerina, characterized by medieval streets and Renaissance and Baroque palaces. After a short stop at the Duomo to enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire city, continue to pedal to the Villa del Casale, discovered in 1950 with its unique in the Roman world floors that are decorated with multicolored mosaics.
